Oklahoma City Senior | Canaan

She’s witty and charming, she’s genuine and loyal. There’s a sweetness to Canaan that is obvious to everyone that meets her and  she is contagiously goofy. In her free time, she loves to cheer on her school’s cheer squad and enjoys doodling while sipping a hot cup of coffee. She plans to study graphic design next fall at Oklahoma Christian University, following in her cousins (me & my brother) and her brother’s footsteps! I’ve always been in awe by her constant creativity and artistic ability. It’s not uncommon to see Canaan pick up something artistic–oil paints, paper crafts, calligraphy, watercolor–for the first time and excel in it. When she creates, she’s fearless. And that will take her so far.

We started her senior session in one of her favorite coffee shops (a shop that happens to be my favorite too!), Cuppies and Joe in Oklahoma City. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, but we managed to snag a seat in the corner with some fantastic light streaming through the windows…

Although you can’t tell from the photos, there were so many people in this room! At first, she was a little nervous to be taking photos in front of a bunch of strangers, but you can’t even tell that either! Canaan was a natural in front of the camera and her beauty radiated throughout the entire room…

Okay, please just look at those gorgeous blue eyes…

Canaan drinks more coffee than any person I’ve ever met…

A couple girls left the room we were in and we grabbed their table as soon as they did. Something really fun about Cuppies & Joe, other than being in an adorable house, is the artwork on the walls! I’m so glad we were able to get some shots with the cool art…

We headed up the road for a location change with a slightly different mood. I love the pillars and the stairs on this building! AND can we talk about those amazing shoes she’s wearing!?

I love Canaan’s smile, it’s so natural and beautiful!!

After an outfit change, we had a sit on the steps…

And again, how gorgeous are these shoes!?

This is one of my favorites from our session!

Up the steps, we stood by pillars and greenery…

Canaan’s eyebrows are always on fleek, as they say (that’s the correct term, right??). I have an old soul and I don’t really know these things. Anyway, her eyebrows look amazing, as they always do.

As the sun began to set, we went to the base of the steps and gathered around the vines and the trees…

I couldn’t tell you how natural Canaan was in front of the camera. I’m so thankful for her and proud all she is doing in her life right now. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her!!
